 Postpartum Community Support Circle

Our postpartum support group provides a space for safe, confidential conversation with other recently postpartum individuals. In a non-judgmental atmosphere, we come together and share what we are going through in order to heal and offer support to others. This group provides an opportunity to usher in this new period of life, develop coping skills, and grow in confidence as a new parent.

As postpartum specialists, our doulas are highly-trained and experienced in normal infant behavior and development, as well as post-birth mental and physical recovery. You can expect to receive helpful guidance on how to care for your baby, recognize key behavioral cues, and all things infant feeding and sleeping related. Your team is ready!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Daytime care is generally between 4 and 8 hours per visit, while overnight care is usually between 8 and 12 hours per visit. Each postpartum doula is unique in what they offer so please discuss your schedule and preferences with us and we will connect you with someone that meets your needs.

  • There are an incredible number of benefits to hiring a postpartum doula or newborn care specialist. They provide education, resources, emotional support, and guidance through the 4th trimester.   • Postpartum Doulas are not “baby nurses.” This is a question we get a lot, and yes, they are quite different. While some families hire night nurses or baby nurses for overnight care and feedings, these providers are not required to carry any specific certifications or have any specialty training. In fact, the term “baby nurse” or “night nurse” is misleading because they are not in fact medical nurses. Postpartum doulas, are highly-trained and experienced in normal infant behavior and development, as well as post-birth mental and physical recovery. Meeting the needs of the family as a whole and not just care of your infant.

  • Possibly. Some of our doulas are also qualified sleep trainers or sleep consultants and could assist you in assessing and implementing healthy sleep habits for your newborn. However, none of our doulas will assist in the 'the cry it out’ method.
