Our PRENATAL VISITS form an essential foundation of TRUST.

During these sessions, we discuss the multitude of options that you will be presented with leading up to and during your birth, practice breathing, positioning, and various comfort techniques for labor, learn about the physiology of birth, and delve into the world of feeding and newborn care, as well as process past and current feelings and situations that may influence your birth and postpartum experience. Through these in-depth conversations, evidence-based information, and personalized training, we will develop your unique birth strategy.

Move through your birth with insight and reassurance.

When the big day finally arrives, your doula will stay in touch with you throughout early labor, and typically meets you at your home before moving to your birthing location. She will guide you as you move through your birth, providing insight and reassurance, as well as offering massage, counterpressure, and numerous other doula tricks to ease your labor. Your doula can help you decide when itโ€™s time to go to the hospital or birth center, or when to call your midwife.

Your doula is experienced in moving from your home to your chosen birthing location, and will be there to make that transition as seamless as possible. She is also an expert at partnering with care providers, advocating for you, and facilitating open communication between you and your doctors, nurses, and midwives so that you have all the information necessary to make important decisions.

She is responsible for creating and maintaining an environment conducive to a relaxing birth. She will dim the lights, place candles and fairy lights around the room, play music, and diffuse aromatherapy, if you so wish. She will help reinforce your emotional and mental fortitude, continue physical comfort techniques, and offer guidance on how best to progress through labor efficiently and effectively. Her continuous care, from home to hospital, ensures that you feel safe, at ease, and ready for what is to come.

Transition into RECOVERY and bonding.

Your doula will help maintain that your wishes are continued to be followed and will help you establish a successful breastfeeding relationship with your baby. When you are transferred to your recovery room, your doula will ensure that you have everything you need for your remaining time at your birthing location, that your support system is in place, and that you are well-nourished, settled, and ready for motherhood.
